Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass
I’m so excited to report that Planet Fitness has brought back the high school summer pass for 2025. Basically, Planet Fitness locations nationwide have a program that lets teenagers in the United States and Canada work out for free during summer vacation. Here is everything you need to know about the program.

This is the fourth summer in a row that Planet Fitness has offered a free pass exclusively for high school students. Basically, it is a complimentary summer membership for teens to exercise as much as they want at Planet Fitness.
The company says it created this program “to offer high schoolers a way to stay active during the summer months in a fun, safe and Judgement Free environment.” That’s according to a Planet Fitness press release.

How the summer pass works
Pre-registration for the program opened May 15. Then, starting June 1, teens ages 14 through 19 will be able to work out for free all summer long at Planet Fitness. The free program ends on August 31, 2025.
Anyway, teens can register for it online (link is at the bottom of this article) or visit a local club in person. If you have teens younger than 18, take note. You will need to go with them to sign up. In other words, a parent or guardian must be present or give their permission to get this free summer pass.
Once registered, teens will have access to all of the programming and exercise equipment that their local Planet Fitness offers. This includes free private training–if that service is offered. Keep in mind that once you choose your Planet Fitness location, that is the only one you can use for your summer workout. In other words, you can’t take this benefit with you to another club.
Pro tip: You can look under “amenities” for your nearest location to see if free training is available there. You see, each Planet Fitness location is independently owned and operated. Therefore, not all offer free training.
Exercise in person or at home
Planet Fitness offers two ways that teens can use their summer pass. One, they can visit their local club. And two, they can use the Planet Fitness app.
Like the Peloton app, Planet Fitness has created an app that’s full of fitness content. You can even start using it before the official start date of the summer program.
Some of those options include:
- Cardio Series
- Strength Series
- Dumbbell Series
The app has these series (aka cardio, strength and dumbbell programs) at the beginner and intermediate levels. Think about it: you can follow along at home or you can use the app while at the club.
The whole idea of having your teen stay active this summer is to get them out of the house. Therefore, I would encourage them to visit Planet Fitness, even if they’re using the app.
If your teen wants to couple working out with actually working, here are small business ideas for teens. Who knows? They can get healthy in the summer and become entrepreneurs.
